I lost 60 Pounds on OPTAVIA!

 I didn't think it was possible. 

Like, not even an option, so far out of reality that it didn't actually cross my mind as something that could happen. 

I didn't dream big enough. I didn't trust myself. 

I set short-term goals and even those I wasn't sure I could meet. 

Here I am, just 4.5 months after I started this program, and I have lost inflammation, I have lost weight, I have lost the brain fog, I have lost my entire wardrobe. 

I have gained so much - my health! my energy! my sleep! all the foods I couldn't eat before! my mental clarity! 

You guys, I've lost SIXTY FREAKING POUNDS and I want to shout from the friggin rooftops HOW GOOD I FEEL. 

Please, I want you to consider this program. It has changed my life. I am here to share it with you, and walk with you every step of the way. Change is scary! Find the dreamer inside you, and trust in yourself. You can do this. You can find your health. You've got this!

Why OPTAVIA is Not A Diet #NotADiet

Someone made a comment to me yesterday about how I can say I'm not on a diet, when I've lost almost 60 lbs in 5 months. I've been thinking about it a lot. 

In the true sense of the word, your diet is simply the food that you eat. But it also can mean a special kind of food or restricting the foods you eat in order to lose weight. That form of "diet" implies a lot of yo-yo-like ups and downs, with some form or food restrictions and being either "on a diet" or "off my diet" and "cheat days".

I wasn't healthy. I had to lose weight to get healthier. My body was suffering, my sleep was suffering, my energy was lacking, and I was on a very dangerous path with the potential complications from obesity. 

I *knew* I needed to do something to become healthier, but *nothing* was working - and it wasn't for lack of trying. 

This program forced me to face some hard truths about my nutrition. I now eat 6 times a day, and I don't skip meals. I don't ever go longer than 3 hours without eating. I drink 100oz+ of water each day. I am eating real food - no artificial colors/flavors/preservatives. I am learning portion sizes. I am not taking a wild assortment of supplements anymore (talk about throwing my body out of whack). I have balanced my nutrition with the exact right combination of macros (and I don't even have to think about or track it!). In fact, I almost never even think about food - I don't stress about it, and I don't feel restricted. 

As a result, my inflammation has decreased. My sleep has drastically improved. My energy is through the roof and I'm not feeling that afternoon slump. I created healthy habits for my schedule, and start my day with a morning routine, and wind down with an evening routine - every single day. I've reduced my time on electronic devices. My whole life has changed, because I finally feel hope for myself, hope for my health, hope for my future. 

I GAVE MYSELF PERMISSION TO TAKE CARE OF MYSELF, CREATE HEALTHIER HABITS AND MINDSETS, AND LEARNED THE TOOLS TO MAINTAIN A HEALTHY LIFESTYLE.  

I stopped caring what other people think, because my health affects ME. I don't want to waste my time (or my health) on programs that restrict foods forever - whether it be eliminating certain types of food, or limiting when you can eat. Been there, done that, it didn't work. I made a choice to utilize this program to learn the habits of health, which translate to lifelong transformation - not just for my food and nutrition, but for every aspect of my life. 

If you have questions, don't be ashamed to reach out and talk to me. I won't pressure you, and there's no harm in learning more. Don't make assumptions based on google or whatever random stuff you see online - talk to me, I've done the program, I've seen the results, and I feel so strongly about the health benefits of it, I committed to share it with others. 

These habits are not a diet, but an entire upheaval to my nutrition. I can make healthy choices, or I can choose to intentionally make a not-so-healthy choice (and identify it as such), but I know how to navigate back to the healthy choices - and as long as I am making those choices intentionally, I know I am good! This program has been a total makeover of my mindset. 

THIS IS MY DEFINITION OF HEALTHY. 

I choose OPTIMAL HEALTH. 

I choose ME.

Optavia Fueling Hack - Smashed Potato "Bagels"

I am not the person who hacks Fuelings - I don’t normally like to add stuff to them and then have to track it. But this...this was worth it. I plotted my L&G around it today 😂

1 OPTAVIA smashed potato fueling, either flavor (1 Fueling)
2 egg whites (1/7 of Leanest)
1/2t baking powder (1 Condiment)
1/2t Everything But The Bagel seasoning (1 Condiment)
1 wedge light Laughing Cow cheese (1 Condiment)

Mix fueling, egg whites, and baking powder together. Spread in bagel shape on parchment paper on a baking sheet, sprinkle with EBTB seasoning, and bake at 350° for 13-15 mins.

I made one bagel shape and one flattened ball shape to try it out! I spread the Laughing Cow on top of the bagel shape, and slit open the ball shape and spread the LC inside ... the verdict is, both options are delicious! 😋

I lost 50 pounds on OPTAVIA!

This last week has been a little rough - hormones, stress, doctors - all of it playing a part in my overall health. I absolutely believe weight is just a number on a scale, and not an indicator of anything specific to health. I also weigh myself daily because for me, it is a representation of my body, and I like being able to acknowledge "okay, maybe I had too much xxx yesterday" or "wow I can tell that I wasn't as relaxed as normal yesterday" and see how those things affect my body.  

I'm sharing these three graphs because for me, it is so telling how that number on the scale reflects my overall health. 

The far left graph is my weight since I bought a scale in 2017. You can see the ups and downs, over and over, as I cycled through trying to find my health. 

The middle graph is since I started this program in mid-October - straight down since then! This works!

The far right graph is just this month - the little ups and downs that reflect all the external factors that were affecting my health. 

I am SO GRATEFUL I am learning habits of health to help mitigate these factors! I am able to acknowledging that what I eat isn't the whole picture, and what is going on in my life also plays a role in my overall health. I am so glad I'm learning how to focus my day, make choices that are in my own best interest, and I am absolutely LOVING coaching others on their own health journeys -  the positivity I both give and get from this community is making such a huge difference in all aspects of my life. 

All that to say...look at the bottom image. I am in tears typing this because I never, ever, ever in a million years would have thought this was possible. Ever. I didn't know. I didn't believe in myself. I figured I was too tall, too "big boned", too whatever, to ever be healthy. I was psyching myself out before I even got started - self-sabotage is real, you guys. I'm so glad I found this program, it has quite literally given me back my life. I feel more like ME than I have in a long time, and I love it. I feel like it radiates out from me, and I want to share it with everyone I know. I'm ready to help you get started on your own journey to health. Let's go!

Week 14 on Optavia - Weigh In Update!

I am SO CLOSE to reaching the 50 pounds GONE mark - and I can hardly believe it. 

14 weeks. 
48 pounds. 

I simultaneously don't feel like I'm even living in my own body, and also feel more like myself than I have in years. I could cry thinking about how much LIFE this program has given me. It's so much more than the physical changes - it's the energy, the sleep, the better and more positive attitude and outlook, and just everything in general. I feel so wonderfully amazing that I just want to shout it and shake everyone who needs this program, and tell them over and over again that IT WORKS and I'm here and ready and willing to help them find their health again.
